2025 marked 30 years since Saul and Liliana took ownership of Pieloon! Coming from Mexico in 1974, Saul worked at Marmac’s Prime Rib (now the Downey Pizza Company) before making his way to Pieloon in 1981. Also arriving in 1981, Miguel celebrates 45 years of cooking up some of the best dinners in Downey! After years of working in between Pieloon and The Big Yellow House, Saul was offered to take over in 1995, and the rest is history! Everyone from cousins, brothers, sisters, and his children have or currently help run the restaurant, making it a true family establishment. Thank you for supporting us for the last 30 years! We look forward to continuing to serve Downey for years to come!
Pieloon started out as one of the original House of Pies locations in 1970, before branching off and taking the name Pieloon somewhere around 1972 or 1973. The name Pieloon was borrowed from the former Longbranch Pieloon in Oak Glen.
